Prohibited Content Policy
Last updated: July 14, 2026
Grainstash is a home for producers' sounds, not a general-purpose file host. This policy explains what may never be uploaded, stored, shared, previewed, published, promoted, or sold through Grainstash. It applies to every part of the Service, including private and unpublished audio, previews, stems, loops, samples, artwork, titles, tags, descriptions, profiles, messages, and linked material.
No adult, obscene, or extremist audio is allowed on Grainstash. If you are unsure whether material falls within this policy, do not upload it. Contact support@grainstash.com first with a description that does not include the potentially prohibited file.
1. Adult, sexual, or obscene content
We do not allow adult or NSFW content in any format, including:
- pornography, sexually explicit material, erotic narration, sexual role-play, sexual sound effects, or audio made for sexual gratification;
- fetish content, sexual services, escort services, or sexualized solicitation;
- nudity or sexual imagery in cover art, profiles, listings, previews, or linked material; or
- non-consensual intimate content or recordings.
There is no NSFW label, age gate, or artistic exception that makes this material acceptable on Grainstash. Ordinary non-sexual profanity is not prohibited by this section on its own, but hate, harassment, threats, and other prohibited uses remain banned.
2. Child sexual abuse and exploitation
We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material, grooming, sexual exploitation, or any sexual or suggestive depiction of a person who is, appears to be, or is presented as under 18. This prohibition includes real, fictional, illustrated, animated, and AI-generated material. We may preserve and report apparent violations to the appropriate authorities and child-safety organizations as required or permitted by law.
3. Terrorism and extremist content
For this policy, "extremist" means an individual, organization, or movement that advocates, organizes, carries out, or materially supports violence against people or communities to advance political, religious, ideological, or identity-based aims. This includes entities designated as terrorist or extremist by a competent authority, but a formal designation is not required. We make platform decisions based on the content, credible available evidence, and the safety risk.
We do not allow content that contains, reproduces, samples, imitates, promotes, or supports:
- speeches, sermons, manifestos, propaganda, recruitment material, chants, songs, symbols, or calls to action from terrorist or extremist people, groups, or movements;
- praise, glorification, fundraising, instruction, recruitment, or material support for terrorism or violent extremist ideologies; or
- calls for, celebration of, or instructions for violence against people, communities, or public places.
Because Grainstash is an audio-production platform, this rule also applies when the material is remixed, sampled, transformed, quoted for documentary or educational purposes, presented critically, or recreated with a synthetic or impersonated voice. Do not upload such audio to Grainstash.
4. Hate, harassment, and threats
We do not allow content or activity that:
- promotes hatred, dehumanization, exclusion, or discrimination against people based on protected characteristics;
- targets a person or group with abuse, stalking, sexual harassment, or repeated intimidation;
- contains a credible threat or encourages others to harass or harm someone; or
- shares private or identifying information without permission in order to cause harm.
5. Graphic violence, abuse, and cruelty
We do not allow recordings or depictions of real murder, torture, severe injury, suicide, sexual violence, animal cruelty, or abuse when the material exploits, celebrates, instructs, or is primarily intended to shock. Evidence of abuse should be given directly to the appropriate authorities, not uploaded to Grainstash.
6. Illegal, dangerous, or regulated activity
We do not allow content, products, or activity that:
- is illegal or facilitates illegal goods, services, transactions, or evasion of the law;
- promotes or instructs people to make or use weapons, explosives, illegal drugs, or other means of serious harm;
- facilitates human trafficking, exploitation, fraud, money laundering, or stolen goods; or
- uses Grainstash to sell unsupported or payment-restricted products or services, including gambling, lotteries, securities, credit repair, or regulated financial services.
7. Copyright infringement and piracy
You may upload only material you own or have permission to use and distribute. Pirated music, unauthorized samples, leaked recordings, ripped packs, counterfeit products, and tools or instructions primarily intended to defeat copyright protection are prohibited. A disclaimer, credit, or claim of "fair use" does not replace the rights or permission required to sell and distribute audio through Grainstash.
8. Privacy, consent, and impersonation
We do not allow:
- private, confidential, or unlawfully obtained recordings;
- voice recordings uploaded or sold without the rights and consent required by law;
- deceptive voice clones, deepfakes, or impersonation intended to mislead or cause harm; or
- content that violates another person's privacy, publicity, data, or personality rights.
9. Malicious and deceptive activity
Malware, phishing, spam, scams, fake listings, manipulated engagement, misleading product claims, and attempts to bypass Grainstash's security, fees, moderation, or payment controls are prohibited. You may not use external links, encoded files, or misleading metadata to conceal prohibited material.
10. Enforcement
We may review content and account activity using human and automated methods. We may refuse an upload, restrict access, disable previews or sales, unpublish or remove content, preserve evidence, refund buyers, withhold or reverse payouts where legally permitted or required by a payment provider, and suspend or terminate accounts. Severe violations may result in immediate action without prior notice. We may also report apparent illegal activity to payment providers, safety organizations, or law enforcement.
This list is not exhaustive. We may act on content or activity that creates a material safety, legal, payment-network, or platform-integrity risk even if it is not named above. We may update this policy as laws, safety risks, and payment-provider rules change. Changes take effect when posted, unless a later date is stated.
11. Report content or appeal a decision
To report a possible violation, email support@grainstash.com with the relevant Grainstash URL, a brief explanation, and any supporting information. Do not attach illegal or exploitative material. If your content or account was restricted and you believe we made a mistake, use the same address to appeal and include the account email and the affected pack or sample.
